There’s a unique sense of community, support and belonging here that I don’t think you necessarily find elsewhere.
"I guess you can say I’ve always been a Wildcat. My family likes to joke that blue is in my blood since I was born in a hospital basically 100 yards from UK’s football stadium. My dad and his grandfather also went to UK, so my family goes back four generations of Wildcats. Even when we moved to South Carolina when I was a kid, we always found time to visit UK every year for football and basketball games. After spending two years at a smaller, private school on a basketball scholarship, I decided to make the transfer to the place that’s been calling me home all along.
Transferring to a new school is scary because there’s a lot of uncertainty, but my experience with UK’s transfer process was actually very easy. There were people at every twist and turn, guiding me through everything from credit transfers to dorm assignments. Their enthusiasm to make the process go as smoothly as possible only made me that much more excited to start my life as a Wildcat. There’s a unique sense of community, support and belonging here that I don’t think you necessarily find elsewhere.”
